      Hi!

In short, no. There’s been no project that I’ve worked on that is controversial or made me afraid I would hurt someone else. Most equipment and algorithms used in healthcare have to get a stamp of approval by the country they’re sold in, so only safe things are let through.

There are some areas of current research in the world that I am hesitant to get involved in – such as artificial intelligence. That’s unknown and hard to control, so who knows what will happen!

      Hey Shonz,

The kind of research I do would never allow us to develop an object that could hurt myself or someone else! We have lots of checks in place to ensure whatever we work with is safe and if we are working with dangerous chemicals, we have the appropriate protection to make sure we don’t hurt ourselves.
Everything I develop and design will always have multiple levels of checks to make sure it is within guidelines of safety and will never be used on anyone unless it has been thoroughly checked and tested.

So I guess the answer is no — I personally havenever invented an object that has made me worry that I will get hurt or hurt someone with it. ( I mean I have done silly things like give myself a minor shock when I was building a battery with lemons, but I was young and silly and it wasn’t particularly dangerous).
